Labour leadership hopeful Andy Burnham is trying to reinvent himself as a ‘man of the people’ in the run-up to the Makerfield by-election. But his talk about ending Thatcherism is hot air. Burnham is a careerist charlatan; the Greens should have no illusions in him.

Since the May elections, Starmer has been a zombie prime minister: in office, but not in power; waiting for a challenger to send him to his grave. But neither Burnham – nor Polanski – will be a saviour for the left. Only revolutionary struggle offers a way out.
