“kamala IS brat” proclaimed popstar Charli XCX. And so began an unholy alliance between her, Killer Kamala, and the drone-dropping Democrats, keen to join the saturated viral cacophony of Brat.
Short of policies, the Democratic National Convention (DNC) was adorned in lime green, fuzzy arial font, and manufactured viral moments – from roll call to a ‘Hotties for Harris’ afterparty.

They enlisted 200 TikTokers and Twitch streamers to help them seize upon every transient trend in 72 hours, in a desperate bid to win over the American youth.
Liberal journalists fell over themselves to declare a Gen Z groundswell for Kamala, ignoring demonstrators raging outside of the convention.
Political advertising in an election is par for the course, but this irony-poisoned, ‘vibes’-forward politics is not fooling anyone.

Like the Labour Party here – Sadiq Khan was one of the first to use the iconic Brat lime green to promote his ULEZ policy – the Democrats are hoping if their underpaid social media interns crank out enough viral moments they will lure the youth out of the streets and into the polling booth.
Even NATO – the US-led western military alliance – tried to cash in on the Brat hype in a recent Instagram post. Unfortunately, however, a lick of lime green paint won’t cover their bloodstained hands.

Kamala HQ TikTok has become a rogues gallery of war criminals and their accomplices. Scroll for a second more, and you’ll witness the unending horror inflicted upon the Palestinian masses – a reminder of why we hate this lot in the first place.
I thought the album itself was an enjoyable, fun production with some lyrical nods to insecurity, the complexities of female friendship, and motherhood. Its co-option by these genocidal maniacs leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
To paraphrase Charli:

From all the wealth amassed before
I see the profits piled high to the sky
And what I find is kinda scary
Makes me just wanna leave it all behind
