We have amazing news: the previous issue of The Communist was our best-selling ever! Our total circulation was over 6,000 copies – surpassing our previous best-seller: issue 1 back in January 2024.
This means that the amount of people reading The Communist has roughly doubled compared to summer this year, and tripled compared to February-March 2025. Well done comrades! Keep up the great work!
This stunning success is down to three things:
- The crisis-ridden and turbulent objective situation: the resurgence of the Palestine movement, the rise of right-wing populism, the Gen Z revolutions, etc.
- The fact that workers and young people are searching for a deeper explanation of this situation
- The organisation and strength of RCP branches, which has qualitatively leapt in 2025

Here is what some of our members had to say about how The Communist has been going down amongst students during our ‘autumn offensive’ university campaign:
“We managed to sell out of all the papers we brought with us, showing the real thirst for ideas on this. On top of that we had a number of good conversations about Palestine, Marxism, and the crisis of British capitalism today. Two excited students bought up our last papers for £10, barely able to contain themselves seeing people actually wanting to fight for a free Palestine!”
– Leeds RCP member
“At times there were crowds of students gathering around our stall, and we were rushed off our feet! There was a deep anger amongst the students about Palestine and an instinctive understanding that the genocide is the result of profit and capitalism. Students were also talking enthusiastically about the revolution in Nepal and the need for radical change here in the UK with the cost of living crisis, declining living standards, and the rise of Reform.”
– London RCP member
Lenin once wrote that “the Marxist doctrine is omnipotent because it is true”. People are turning to the ideas contained within The Communist because they are the truth; because they reflect the instinctive feelings of class-conscious workers and youth, and articulate the observations that they are already beginning to make.
Every RCP member and supporter should be proud of this success – which belongs to all of us. But we aren’t going to rest on our laurels any time soon!
We will continue producing high-level analysis of British and world events; curating captivating theoretical, historical, and cultural articles; collecting and generalising reports from the movement; and reflecting the lives of workers and youth across Britain.
To do that, we need your help.
