The past 12 months have been explosive in Britain, as the crisis of capitalism deepens, and the Tory government is pummelled by a torrent of sleaze and scandals. We urgently need to build the forces of Marxism. Help us in this task. Donate today!
As 2021 winds down, we would like to thank all of you – our readers and sympathisers – for your continued support, and to wish you a happy new year!
Despite the turbulence of the past year, and the outrageous injustices that the vast majority of us are enduring as a result of the failing capitalist system, the resilience of the working class continues to offer inspiration and optimism.
We hope as many of you as possible can find some deserved respite and joy this festive season.
Revolutionary upheavals
As we know, however, the daily grind will be back with us in 2022. The crisis of capitalism – in Britain and internationally – continues to intensify. Working conditions and pay are being further attacked by the bosses and eroded by inflation. Industrial battles are looming on the horizon.
We would therefore like to make a festive appeal to you this winter: To make an investment in the Marxist tendency – to prepare for the titanic struggles that we must intervene in.
Conditions are being prepared for revolutionary upheavals in Britain. These made not be immediately imminent, but time is definitely of the essence. We live in extremely volatile times. We must therefore build a revolutionary leadership with a sense of urgency.
Striding forwards
We have taken great strides forward in building the forces of Marxism over the last 12 months.
Revolution Festival 2021 was our largest event yet, with over 600 tickets sold. The festival was hugely inspiring, playing an invaluable educational role for a new generation of Marxist activists.
Our intervention at the Labour conference in September – coupled with our expulsion from the party, and our bold campaigns against Keir Starmer and the right wing – have put Socialist Appeal on the map in the labour movement.
We must continue to build upon this – particularly in the trade unions, which are being transformed as workers move into struggle; and also amongst the explosive demonstrations taking place on Britain’s streets, which have been picking up in recent years, both in their frequency and in their revolutionary energy.
The greatest cause
This all calls for new full-time organisers; and for more resources for our bookshop, which is struggling valiantly to keep up with the surging demand for revolutionary theory!
To match up to these historic tasks that we face, we need resources – and we need your help!
So please donate what you can to our festive fighting fund collection this year, in order that one day soon, the working class can win for itself a truly happy new year.
There is no greater cause on earth.
