UCL’s “Introduction to Political Philosophy” module is a classic example of how the revolutionary ideas of Karl Marx are distorted and defanged. For a new generation radicalised by the horrors of capitalism, they deserve better.

It’s easy to understand why many – seeing the horrors of capitalist society on our screens and on the streets – feel pessimistic, disillusioned, and demoralised. But Marxism allows us to see the revolutionary processes developing beneath the surface.
