The pace of recent events is extraordinary. There has never been a more disturbed period in world history than the one we are living through right now. In just the last six months, what have we seen?
In September, ‘Gen Z revolutions’ in Nepal, Indonesia, Morocco, Tanzania, and Kenya. In October, two political general strikes for Palestine in Italy, mostly driven spontaneously by rank-and-file workers – which is unprecedented!
In January this year, an uprising against ICE in the US, with calls for the first city-wide general strike in 80 years in Minneapolis; the kidnapping of Nicolas Maduro; and a 100 percent energy blockade of Cuba, as US imperialism attempts to strangle the Cuban revolution.
In February, Trump threatened to invade Greenland, effectively sabre-rattling against another NATO member!
These are all enormous events. Yet they have mostly faded into the background. Why? Because two major developments now dominate the situation: the Iran war and the Epstein scandal.

The Epstein scandal is the biggest scandal in world history, engulfing the entire western ruling class, and exposing the rottenness and corruption of the capitalist state.
The Iran war, meanwhile, has become a driving force for the crisis of world capitalism – causing economic, diplomatic, and political chaos on every continent.
Connecting the dots
Communists know that none of this is random. These events are connected, and they can be understood. Increasingly, millions of people are beginning to connect the dots, and see this for themselves.
They see that those backing Israel’s genocidal wars against Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran; those spending billions on ‘defence’ while ordinary workers face austerity at home; and those committing abhorrent crimes against women and children – they are one and the same. They are the Epstein class.
Of course, Trump himself is implicated in all of this. Millions of working and middle-class MAGA supporters are beginning to draw the same conclusions.
Videos by Trump, JD Vance, or any representative of the government that comes out to justify their war with Iran, are followed by many comments expressing this class anger. One person commented: “The Epstein cult is in no position to talk about what is right.”
Radical conclusions
People are drawing the same conclusions in Britain.
At a paper sale last night in Woolwich, London, for example, comrades were selling issue 46 of The Communist, which features the frontpage slogan ‘Revolution against the Epstein regime’, alongside a screenshot from the viral Iranian videos denouncing Trump and his disastrous war.

Comrades reported on the mood they found, which confirms this radicalisation taking place, and which these animated anti-Trump videos are tapping into:
“Between 6-7pm, we sold 8 papers, including one at solidarity. We also made a very energetic contact [someone interested in joining the Revolutionary Communist Party] in the first 15 minutes, who approached us saying ‘Lego Trump! I’ve seen him everywhere! Can I read this?’
“When we asked another buyer what made him interested, he pointed at the cover and said ‘I hate him [Epstein] and I hate him [Trump]!’.”
Similarly, at a sale outside Goldsmiths University on Wednesday evening, the comrades reported that: “One man in his 40s stopped and said ‘I’m not really interested in politics, but I hate America and I have seen these videos’. We convinced him to buy a paper off the back of this.”
Danger to the establishment
Of course, the ruling class in Britain are also aware of this mood of anger, and the threat that it poses to their interests.
The Times, for example, recently published an article titled ‘The establishment has been rocked before. Epstein is an existential threat’. It warned:
“The prospect of the former prince, who for now remains eighth in line to the throne, standing in the dock of an English crown court… is likely to ignite a constitutional crisis that the royal family cannot survive…
“The monarchy sits at the top of the establishment, and should it collapse under the weight of a criminal investigation, then the whole edifice will come crashing down.”
The ruling class is clear-eyed about the danger. They understand that this crisis carries revolutionary implications that could bring down their entire system.
Them and us
We must also understand this process and perspective, and fully absorb its significance. Consciousness is moving rapidly.
According to an Ipsos poll, just 26 percent of people in the UK were in favour of the US-Israeli military action against Iran, while 41 percent were against it.
Over two-thirds of Britons (69 percent) do not have confidence that the UK government is running the country with integrity. And 62 percent say they have been closely following recent developments about the release of the Epstein files, including information related to Peter Mandelson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
This is no longer about removing a few bad leaders here or there. People feel that this is us versus them. It’s ordinary people against the entire Epstein class.

Wipe out the Epstein class!
That is why the Revolutionary Communist Party says: Wipe them all out! Wipe out their entire system!
We do not trust the system that they have built, a system designed in their interest, to bring any genuine justice, reforms, or improvement to the lives of the working class.
The task lies with us. Our task is to bring them down and start to organise society around the needs of ordinary people.
That is why we are proud to launch our summer campaign under the slogan: “Wipe out the Epstein class! Join the fight for revolution!”
We must urgently build the RCP to take up this class war.
Over the summer months, branches in cities and towns across the country will be putting up posters with this slogan, organising recruitment stalls, and holding public meetings to discuss Marxist ideas and perspectives.
There is an alternative: we can build a world free from exploitation and oppression; without bankers, politicians, and princes.
If you want to fight for this alternative, then the RCP is your party. Join us today!
Recruitment campaign already gaining an echo
Harry Kent, RCP organiser
The Epstein scandal is the biggest and most widespread scandal in the history of capitalism. It permeates everything. It is a concrete example of the dictatorship of capital, headed by a cabal of the worst scumbags and degenerates.
How can this political system – with all its corruption, cynicism and hypocrisy – do anything to touch these unelected and unaccountable parasites, who are in reality the paymasters of the politicians?
It’s enough to see that Starmer appointed Mandelson – a close ally and confidant of Epstein – to one of the most important political positions in the country, despite the fact that he failed the government vetting process.
Far from wanting to prosecute these criminals, the establishment wants to make use of their connections, in the hopes that they can win the hearts and minds of these filthy-rich paedophile parasites.
It’s no surprise, therefore, that our slogan ‘Wipe out the Epstein class!’ is already striking a nerve.
When the KCL branch put up one of the posters near their campus in central London, someone stopped to tell them off for fly-posting. A passer-by interjected in their defence, insisting that “people must hear these ideas!”
Members in York have been using the slogan on all their recruitment stalls. Even if people don’t stop to buy the paper, they show their disgust at the Epstein affair, which they see as a question of “us versus them”.
The York branch held a public meeting last week that aimed at tying together the Iran war, the rising cost of living, and the Epstein scandal. One attendee, inspired by the discussion, bought a series of books, pamphlets, and The Communist, and agreed to join that evening.
The Oxford branch has had a similar experience, saying that the Epstein scandal has radicalised people who wouldn’t have usually engaged with us or thought of themselves as communists.
Whether people consider themselves ‘left wing’ or not, many are united by their hatred for the Epstein class.
As one person from Brighton who signed up to join the RCP told us:
“I am appalled at the state of the world, specifically with the release of the Epstein files, the exposure of the vileness that lies within the capitalistic elite, the destruction of my homeland, Iran, done under false intentions of ‘aid’…”
Another prospective member from St Helens wrote to us with this to say:
“I want to join the RCP for a number of reasons: 1) I believe in communism and I believe it can work, I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to make it work; 2) I’m sick of capitalism; 3) I’m sick to my stomach of the Epstein class; 4) I’m sick of the USA and Israel trying to control the world.”
Our job is to connect with this frustration, explain it and clarify it using Marxist ideas, and clearly link it to the need for a complete transformation of society.
Alongside our ‘Wipe out the Epstein class!’ posters, we are also reprising our classic ‘Are you a communist? Then get organised!’ posters, which were a key tool in our iconic international recruitment campaign back in 2023.
All of our branch materials are available from the RCP shop at shop.communist.red. We look forward to hearing your reports!
YouTube censors Iran after winning propaganda war
Arta, UCL Communists
A series of Iranian-produced AI propaganda videos – often using a distinctive Lego-style aesthetic – have circulated widely online in recent weeks.
YouTube has since removed them for ‘violent content’, in a revealing example of imperialist hypocrisy. These same platforms host endless real footage of war and devastation carried out by western powers, alongside advertisements and recruitment campaigns for their militaries.
Yet when such violence is reframed – turned back against their imperialist interests – it suddenly becomes unacceptable.
The videos’ impact lies in what they tap into. They invoke scandals and injustices familiar to western audiences. In one, Donald Trump falls through a storm of Epstein files as lyrics declare “the secrets are leaking”.
🎶 Iran-linked accounts are circulating a new LEGO-style propaganda video portraying U.S. and Israeli leaders as corrupt elites tied to the “Epstein files,” part of a broader online campaign aimed at undermining support for the war.

In another, George Floyd appears under a policeman’s knee, as Iran is presented as standing “for everyone your system ever wronged”.

Simultaneously crude and effective, they resonate because they draw on real anger – at war, inequality and elite impunity – and have been viewed up to a billion times.
Historically, the USA has possessed the most sophisticated means of producing and disseminating propaganda. But new AI tools are beginning to shift this terrain, enabling states like Iran to produce fast, culturally resonant propaganda.
The US’ response – censorship under the guise of ‘violent content’ – reveals the limits of ‘free speech’ in the so-called ‘land of liberty’.
These videos point to the crimes of imperialism in a striking and often refreshing way, and communists must learn from such methods. Because, whilst these videos give expression against war, exploitation, and elite impunity, it is communists who can give these messages real content and a programme of properly ending this horror, once and for all.

What made you stay in the RCP?
As we are writing this, RCP members are busy preparing for our Third Congress, for which we have set ourselves the target of reaching 1,400 members.
It’s incredibly exciting to hear about so many new people joining. At the same time, it’s just as interesting to hear from those who joined around six months ago, and what convinced them that the RCP was truly the party for them.
We spoke to a number of comrades across the country, and asked the question: what made you stay in the RCP? Here are some of the responses we received.
“There are a few reasons I have stayed in the RCP, but I think the main reason is the political strength of the party. Any question I’ve asked has been discussed and answered on such a strong political basis that I haven’t seen anywhere else.
“In relation to theory, Wellred Books and The Communist are phenomenal tools which have really helped me understand Marxist ideas. But also active work in the party – from paper sales to building for open meetings – has taught me how communists should act to build for revolution.”
– Dan, Leeds Beckett
“I was radicalised like so many by the genocide in Palestine, and by the global domination of the billionaires that I found so hard to accept. It made me so angry, and every second I sat with it was one I wasn’t fighting for a better world. The RCP provided me not only with an explanation for the global crisis, but an avenue of hope: that history isn’t stagnant, that it’s shaped by mass movements and class struggle.”
– Sol, Birmingham
“The reason why I stayed in the RCP is that I’ve been inspired and had my political level raised. Social media has shown me, and the world, that there is no limit to agony. We’ve all had similar reactions to seeing the children in Palestine cry because they were recently orphaned. I could never accept how the world was for as long as I can remember.
“I spent most of my life searching for a framework to understand the world. I went from religion to liberalism to distorted ideas of Marxism. Finally, after all these years, I had found the right ideas through the RCP. Comrades patiently explained to me why the world was this way, and what was needed to change it.”– Ali, Leeds
“Clarity – having answers for once, and piecing the world together. I think in the three months I’ve been in the RCP, I’ve had more clarity on economics, morality, religion, etc. than in my whole life. This would actively make me come back for more, to see what else I can find out.”
– Nadia, Manchester
“I stayed because being in the RCP has been the first time in a long while that I’ve not felt helpless against all the terrible things happening in the world. I really feel like I can make a difference.”
– Mal, Birmingham
