Palestine Action activists, ‘The Filton 18’, have been held under anti-terrorism legislation for months on end without a trial. Yesterday, our comrades in Woolwich joined those protesting their detention, and explained how this reflects the British state’s growing weakness.

This afternoon, the government confirmed its intention to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist group. This is nothing short of an attempt to criminalise the Palestine movement. In response, we joined an emergency protest at Trafalgar Square to say: Hands off Palestine Action!

Thousands protested against Britain’s role in the criminal actions of the Israeli state on Saturday. Public anger around what’s happening in the Middle East has only grown, but to turn this into a successful struggle, the movement needs direction.
