These years of crisis and revolution have been a lean period for the Catholic Church, which has been forced to churn out saints in order to maintain its appeal.

But the “choice” facing American will be over which unpopular crook and liar will get to rule them on behalf of Wall Street for the next four years. By 61 votes to 20, the rotten Brazilian Senate has approved the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff and, consequently, her definitive removal from office. Under pressure from its capitalist masters, the new Temer government must now go on the offensive. These attacks will open up a new period of sharpened class struggle in Brazil.
