For the final part of our series tracing Britain’s anti-racist struggle in the post-WW2 era we remember the inspiring Bradford 12, who physically organised to defend themselves and their communities against the far right, and won a landmark ruling which stands today.

The name Malcolm X is synonymous with the black liberation movement internationally. His life was dedicated to this struggle, ultimately leading to his murder in 1965. Fiona Lali discusses the life and ideas of Malcolm X and how we can honour his legacy by overthrowing the oppression and exploitation which still plagues the world today.

In Birmingham, workers and youth outnumbered Britain First five-to-one. But this victory came in spite of the left’s leadership. Meanwhile, anti-racists successfully disrupted Tommy Robinson’s Oxford Union appearance. In both places, the Communists took bold initiatives.
