
Last week, days after an Islamophobic Britain First march in the same city, a man attempted to carry out a terrorist attack at a Manchester mosque. The silence from the establishment is deafening. We can have no faith in politicians and the police to keep communities safe.

Last Saturday in Manchester, Britain First’s fascist knuckle-draggers were sent packing by over a thousand anti-fascists, including a sizeable Communist bloc. This is a welcome victory for the left, but far from a resounding one. The movement must draw the lessons.
