On 6 October, the right-wing, anti-migrant grifter Montgomery Toms, founder of ‘FreedomWatchGB‘, set up his stall outside the Cardiff University Students’ Union.
Under the guise of encouraging ‘open debate’ and ‘free speech’, this Restore Britain supporter was trying to spread his racist bile among students, and farm clips for his social media page.
A protest, called only the day before, began with quite sporadic anger, with a small crowd of students jeering and trying to debate him. But there was no real leadership present.
But Revolutionary Communist Students in Cardiff were able to quickly step in and provide some direction.

A comrade saw the angry crowd growing on the street, and called for all the nearby communists to get there ASAP. We had comrades running out of houses, out of lectures, and arriving from all over Cardiff!
We arrived with flags, megaphones, and loud chanting. Soon the street was lined with students, taking up our slogans, with more and more stopping to join us in kicking this Charlie Kirk wannabe off our campus.
We gave speeches exposing Toms’ racist rubbish, and how the establishment media and politicians are also responsible for emboldening these types, with their vile, divisive rhetoric. We had this grifter surrounded by 300 students, all shouting “just another crook for hire” and “fight the system! Smash the right! Workers of the world, unite!”.

Humiliated, and unable to get anything out of the crowd, this attention seeker fled with his tail between his legs, looking a bit shaken. This ‘mass remigration’ fanatic didn’t seem to be a fan of his own deportation from campus, back to where he came from.
The student who started the protest spoke to us at the end saying, “it was really slow until you guys got there, you guys really brought the energy”. She is now wanting to get organised with the Revolutionary Communist Party!
What we did in Cardiff is just a glimpse of the role that Revolutionary Communist Students can play in channelling the anger of radical young people, and in leading struggles on campus where we have the forces to do so.
Events like this are going to happen more and more frequently, and we need to be ready. The exact same thing happened at Bristol University only the day before.
And as it happens, just four days later, youth in Brighton – many of them literal kids – disrupted another one of Mr. Toms’ ‘debating’ stalls, forcing him to cut short his clip-farming operation and deliver a rather tearful sob story for the cameras. Womp, womp!
I was attacked, mobbed, shut down. My gazebo was destroyed.
Yesterday, @FreedomWatchGB, my organisation, went to Brighton to debate the issues that matter most to Britain in 2026.
We were mobbed, branded ‘Nazis’, ‘racists’ and ‘fascists’, assaulted, spat on, and had our equipment stolen and our gazebo destroyed. I eventually had to be escorted out in a police car.
Will I stop? No.
Because despite the attempted intimidation, young lads came forward before we were mobbed to show their support, hear the debates and even donate the coins in their pockets.
We will return to Brighton, with greater security and more patriots.
We are Britons. Our ancestors endured far worse. We will push on.
In this situation, with the manpower to hand, I made the decision not to fight, not to respond with the same anger they possess, but to protect my co-workers, my cameraman’s equipment, practise stoicism, stay calm, and let the gazebo be destroyed.
There is nothing you can do in this situation with the manpower we had: one security guard who did an amazing job all day, two fellow debaters, and one cameraman versus hundreds of people.
A masculine man is one who has a sword but knows when to use it. I am, however, capturing each face and handing the footage to the police, along with looking into prosecution for criminal damage.
Retaliation is getting another gazebo, more security, returning and pushing on.
We had many good debates and delivered encouragement to so many people in Brighton. That’s what matters.

A few weeks ago, ‘Young Bob’ – another pathetic right-wing grifter familiar with ferocious backlash from normal young people – “declared war on communist ideology on campus”, while bravely tearing down one of our (many thousands of) RCP posters.
We say to this lot: bring it on! This is a war you are never going to win. Because we represent the vast majority of youth, who are fed up with this racist system. We represent the future.
