
Sixteen years after the Good Friday agreement and ever so conveniently, just after the European Elections, the Stormont Assembly will shortly face a show down on the question of Welfare Reform, which is likely to illustrate just how toothless and lame the Assembly really is. But most importantly it will demonstrate the relationship between the DUP, Sinn Féin and the Westminster Government.

Following the elections in Ukraine on 25th May, the bloody assault against rebels in Donetsk has continued and escalated. We publish here three short articles that deal with the latest developments in the Ukraine, including one article by left-wing group Borotba.

On the 16th May, the results of the Indian elections were announced. Narendra Modi – right wing Hindu nationalist of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been elected Prime Minister.
