We invite our readers to this year’s International Marxist Tendency (IMT) Winter School, being hosted by the UCLU Marxist Society in UCL, London. This year’s weekend school – held from 15-17th November and entitled “Marx Was Right!” – will cover the fundamental aspects of Marxism, at a time when more and more people are commenting on the relevance of Marx’s ideas.
Articles and interviews in Time magazine, the Wall Street Journal, and the BBC have discussed the correctness of Marx’s analyses, particularly in relation to the crisis of capitalism.
The IMT, however, goes further and believes that the ideas of Marxism are not only relevant for describing the capitalist system, but also for understanding that there is no alternative under capitalism but austerity – the only options are socialism or barbarism. It is for this reason that the IMT is active in over 30 countries, participating in the mass movements that we see across the world today, and fighting for an international and revolutionary socialist programme.
