London Demonstration in defence of the welfare state

This year’s Tory party conference left many asking “what’s the point?” The lacklustre affair was plagued by empty seats, misspelt novelty chocolate bars, and a stream of Tory MPs defecting to Farage’s Reform like rats from a sinking ship.

Today marks two years of Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza. In this time, millions have taken to the streets of Britain to protest for Palestine. The movement is now at a crossroads. To advance, organised workers need to enter the scene en masse.

The British establishment has leapt at the opportunity to exploit last week’s synagogue attack to further their own interests, and demonise the Palestine movement. Their hypocrisy and cynicism knows no bounds. Now is not the time to back down, but to fight back.
