Over the last month, Cambridge communists have led a campaign to kick out James Orr, the disgraced associate of Nigel Farage, from Cambridge University.
Our actions have rattled Orr, the Cambridge University establishment, and we have even made it to the national press with The Express hysterically decrying “Chaos as Reform professor called fascist during Cambridge University lecture”.
On Friday 30 October, we succeeded in disrupting Orr’s entire lecture by condemning his hateful policies to his face, forcefully drawing attention to how he was head of policy for Reform UK, but had the nerve to lecture us on ethics!
To Orr’s embarrassment, our leaflets were placed upon every desk in the lecture theatre, with a big picture of Orr stating “FAR-RIGHT CRIMINAL* ON OUR CAMPUS” with an asterix explaining how he was brought in by Palantir.
We called out his complicity in the social lynching of former Cambridge Professor Jason Arday, and his links to the Israeli genocidal warmachine, whereupon he was asked to answer for his crimes.
Since the lecture callout, our social media has spread the campaign even further. Our video has garnered over 3,000 likes on Tiktok, over 400 on Instagram, and 500 from a Twitter account that reported on our action.
One person enthusiastically commented that “this campaign has made more progress than any negotiating has in SEVEN YEARS that he has been employed here. get orr out!!!!”
The Telegraph wrote a hit-piece labelling us as “Cambridge Hecklers,” and included a partial transcript of our condemnation of Orr. The establishment media is watching us keenly, and unknowingly broadcasting our message nationwide.
They had the nerve to write that we “stormed” the lecture hall, and portrayed us as security risks. But they are the ones who lynched Arday, who back Isreal’s genocidal wars abroad and then support social murder through cuts and austerity at home.
There is not a course or student bar on campus that isn’t talking about what we are doing. This consciousness puts us in a very promising position for our planned rally this Friday 6 November. To get involved follow and message @cambscommunistsociety on instagram.

Despite being kicked off site by campus security and told by the faculty higher ups to “lay-low,” we have not given up hope nor wavered from the cause. Knowing that we are on the right side of history has been our driving force. We will not be deterred by the institution in our way.
From organising meetings to chats in the pub, we have met many sympathetic members within Orr’s Divinity Faculty. We have united leftist student movements across the university, and are showing the RCP to be the driving force of practical student action at Cambridge University.
Orr is not safe – our comrades are breathing down his neck and the necks of his right-wing acolytes. We will not rest until the Divinity Faculty is no longer an unfettered recruitment ground for Reform or other far right outfits.
