After almost six months hiatus due to the lockdown, Socialist Appeal activists were back on the streets over the weekend with printed copies of our paper. Join us and help spread the ideas of socialism amongst workers and youth!
Socialist Appeal supporters up and down the country took to the streets last weekend to relaunch the print edition of the paper. The ‘Super Saturday’ event saw simultaneous paper sales in over 29 different locations, in what must be a record for Socialist Appeal. The forces of Marxism in Britain are well and truly back in action!
After many months of lockdown, supporters were keen to get back out on the streets talking to new people about the fight for socialism. With the deepening crisis of capitalism, and a growing hatred of the Tory government, supporters noted a general rise of interest in revolutionary ideas.

Such has been the recent growth in the forces of Marxism, that eight simultaneous sales were organised in London alone. Likewise, supporters in Sheffield organised three separate sales, whilst those in Cambridge, Leeds, and Norwich all organised two.
Cambridge: We were out with the relaunched paper at two different locations in sunny Cambridge over this weekend! The paper was well-received and we sold several books on top of that, and got the details of several people keen to be more involved with the fight for socialism!
In Colchester and Loughborough, supporters organised their first ever public sales of the Socialist Appeal. With lots of enthusiasm to spread the ideas of socialism, these sales will no doubt be the first of many.
Essex: Super Saturday paper sale in Colchester. Spreading the ideas of Marxism in Essex! Three comrades sold 7 papers and made two contacts. We spoke to a few people, one woman had even heard about Socialist Appeal here in Colchester… but 20 years ago. Well, we’re back and we’re here to stay. Great work all comrades!
Supporters adapted well to the new conditions, with observance of the necessary social distancing precautions. The use of QR codes – linked to online sign-up forms – was reported to work well for those who wanted to keep in touch.
Many of those attending Super Saturday were selling the paper for the first time. But we know there are many other Marxists across Britain who have yet to take the step of getting organised to put these revolutionary ideas into practice.
