At this time of year, the campaign to raise Fighting Fund donations usually goes into overdrive. This year is no exception. The Target is £6000 to be raised between now and the end of January 2009. Compared to the billions being thrown at banks and finance houses by worried governments, this figure may not seem like much but we know it will require every reader and seller to take action if we are to hit the target. Over the last few weeks many workers and youth have been asking – what has gone wrong and why? The bosses press can tackle the first part of the question but are lost when it come to the second part. Marxism alone provides a clear analysis and makes clear why we need a socialist society, which is the only real way forward. All the bosses can offer is that we pay for their mess. There is an alternative but due to lack of resources our ideas are greater than our voice. This is why we are making an appeal for donations.
The cash is needed urgently to expand the resources of Socialist Appeal. One thing we need to buy sooner rather than later is a paper guillotine to speed up the production of leaflets etc. and reduce our production costs on the journal. With your help we can get it.
Donations can be made online by going to www.wellred.marxist.com and looking for the special Xmas appeal logo. Donations can also be made by post (again make cheques payable to SASC) by sending them to us at PO Box 50525, Poplar, London, E14 6WG. You can also go into any branch of Abbey and pay over the counter to us via account K2018479SOC in the name of SASC. So why not make that investment in socialism and send us what you can without delay – be it £1 or £100. Regular donations can also be made by standing order – contact us for a form.
