There are just seven days left until the Revolution Festival 2024 begins!
This event is set to be the biggest anti-imperialist conference and school of communism in Britain for decades.
We have already sold over 800 tickets, which is an incredible achievement. With only 200 spaces left, and around 100 tickets usually sold on the door – we strongly advise you get your tickets while you can to avoid disappointment!

As Marx and Engels explained, the fight against capitalism is international or it is nothing.
That’s why we will be welcoming attendees from across the Revolutionary Communist International at this year’s event: from Italy to Taiwan, and from the belly of the beast of world capitalism itself: the United States of America.
The purpose of Revolution Festival is to train up a new generation of communist class fighters; to steel ourselves in Marxist theory, and the methods needed to build the Party, and bring down the imperialist war machine once and for all.
Events are moving at break-neck speed, as we have seen in just this past week.
Donald Trump’s victory in the US represents a kick in the teeth for the establishment, and promises further instability across the globe, especially right here in Britain.

That’s why we’re incredibly pleased to have Antonio Balmer – a leading comrade from the Revolutionary Communists of America – speaking at this year’s event.
Antonio will shed light on what this next chapter in American history will mean, and how as communists we can prepare for the turbulence ahead. (See below for more)
Across the world, the crisis of the system is having a profound effect on consciousness. We have already witnessed revolutionary explosions in places like Bangladesh and Kenya – a foretaste of what is to come everywhere.
The turbulence of world capitalism drives home the need for Marxist theory, which allows us to make sense of the madness, and orient ourselves in the class struggle.
This event is also an anti-imperialist conference, with several talks covering topics like the genocide in Gaza, the role of British imperialism today, and which tactics we must use to fight imperialism (see below).
This will culminate with Saturday evening’s Books Not Bombs rally, where comrade Fiona Lali of the RCP executive committee will speak on the ‘Gen Z Revolution’ and the fight against imperialism today.

And after what is sure to be an electric rally, we will cap the night off with an exciting social event, offering a chance to meet and discuss with comrades from across the world, accompanied by live music!
So get your tickets, and get prepared for a weekend of Marxist ideas! We can’t wait to see you all there!
Crisis in the USA: The next chapter
Antonio Balmer, Revolutionary Communists of America
On the eve of the US presidential election, the American ruling class is in a state of panic – for many reasons.
With the imperialists’ grip on the world slipping away more each day, whoever wins will preside over multiple crises, global and domestic.
Earlier this year, a bipartisan congressional commission reported that “the threats the United States faces are the most serious and most challenging the nation has encountered since 1945 and include the potential for near-term major war… the nation is not prepared today.”
Aside from their failing military adventures, the climate catastrophe has plunged millions into desperation, while a cost-of-living crisis produces daily miseries for the working class. Over 80 million Americans have zero net worth—living on nothing but their ability to work, and 78 percent of workers live paycheck to paycheck.
Whoever wins the election, an enemy of the working class will occupy the Oval Office in the White House, and the discontent of the vast majority will continue to intensify.
This is the situation on the ground here in the US on Election Day. I look forward to analysing the results at Rev Fest!
The role of British imperialism today
Ben Gliniecki
I’m really looking forward to speaking on the role of British imperialism today.
The research for the session has taken me back through some Marxist classics, like Lenin’s Imperialism and Trotsky’s Writings on Britain, as well as through an anatomy of British capitalism and foreign policy today.
In the past Britain was the world’s most powerful imperialist country. That’s clearly not the case today. Now it’s a second or even third-rate power clinging to the USA’s coat tails.
But it still plays a role as a cog in the Western imperialist machine. British capitalists have economic interests across the world.
The British establishment has a large diplomatic and foreign policy infrastructure. And British bourgeois politicians have delusional dreams about regaining the empire’s former glory.
So, I’ll be speaking about what imperialism actually is, by taking a look at Lenin’s definition and explanation. I’ll also give a brief sketch of the conflicting webs of imperialist interests around the world today. And then we’ll be able to understand what role British imperialism plays in all of this, and why.
How to fight imperialism: Pacifism, direct action, and revolutionary tactics
Lotta Angantyr
As wars continue to rage across the world, like Israel’s genocide in Gaza and their brutal bombardment of Lebanon, the war in Ukraine, and civil war in Congo and Sudan – many are asking themselves “how do we end this barbarism?”
We are told to leave it up to the world leaders, to the UN and international law. But for an increasing number of people, it’s clear that nothing is being done to prevent these conflicts. On the contrary, it is only getting worse.
In light of the genocide in Gaza, hundreds of thousands have been drawn into the Palestine solidarity movement.
While the leadership of the movement has been mainly influenced by pacifist ideas, we have also seen examples of direct action like sit downs, boycotts, breaking into arms factories, spray painting buildings, and encampments.
In my talk, we discuss what the best methods are for how to end war and why communists base themselves on methods of class struggle.
