This year’s International Marxist University was a triumphant success, with thousands attending across 144 countries, and over €825,000 raised to help build the forces of Marxism. Join us in this task! Join the IMT!
The International Marxist University (#IMU22), held between 23-26 July, exceeded all expectations.
A total of 7,333 people registered – an increase of more than 1,000 since our last IMU in 2020.
From Bolivia to Belgium; from Vietnam to Venezuela; and from Pakistan to Peru: revolutionary workers and youth flocked to the biggest Marxist school the International Marxist Tendency (IMT) has ever hosted.
Not only did attendees and viewers listen to discussions of the highest political level, but comrades also donated an incredible €825,000 to our financial collection, which will now go towards purchasing a new international office in London.
Hundreds of comrades took part in watch parties all over the world. Some comrades even scaled literal mountains in the peaks of Balochistan in order to get a strong enough signal to take part!
Comrades from #Zhob climbed the mountains to catch signals in order to attend Day 3 of International Marxist University (#IMU22) and listen to the session on “Marxism, Money, and Inflation.”

In Britain, comrades attended watch parties across the country – from London to Edinburgh; and from Bristol to Norwich – and were treated to live talks and contributions for a number of sessions.
Our comrades in London have organised a watch party for the International Marxist University, a four-day event focussing on Marxist ideas which is kicking off RIGHT NOW!

‘In a revolution the working class suddenly become aware they have been kept in ignorance & develop a burning desire to know. This is the essence of revolution’

And there was plenty of time before, after, and in the breaks for informal discussions, socialising, and sales of the latest issue of Socialist Appeal.

Join the Marxists!
Everyone left this year’s IMU with a stronger grasp of Marxist ideas. But as Trotsky once said, ideas without organisation are like a knife without a blade.
The task before us is not simply to master theory, but to build a revolutionary leadership capable of leading the working class to victory.
With that in mind, we appeal to all attendees who have not yet joined the IMT: if you were inspired by the IMU, join us in this urgent task, and help win a socialist future for humanity!
