In March 2017, to coincide with the centenary of the Russian Revolution, we will be re-launching the Socialist Appeal as a fortnightly paper. This represents a tremendous step forward for the Marxist Tendency in Britain, and has only been made possible by the hard work and sacrifice of all of our supporters.

For 25 years, Socialist Appeal has defended the ideas of Marxism against all the odds. Now, in the ninth year of the world crisis of capitalism, there has never been a more important time for clear, scientific ideas with which to arm the movement for socialism.

The crisis is producing instability and turbulence at all levels: not just economically, but politically, socially, and militarily. With capitalism unable to offer any future to millions across the world, huge anger and frustration is building up below the surface.

Glimpses of such discontent with the status quo can be seen in the 2014 Scottish Referendum; the election of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader; the vote for Brexit; and in a distorted way, the election of Donald Trump.

The establishment is beginning to crack apart. But what is missing in every country is a socialist programme that offers a way forward for the working class, by breaking decisively with the system – a rotten system that provides luxury for the few based on the misery of millions.

It is such a programme that supporters of Socialist Appeal fight for in the labour movement, both in Britain and internationally. The launch of the fortnightly paper will assist enormously in this work.

For this we need your support – we have no rich backers. We rely on the sacrifices of hundreds of workers and youth who are prepared to fight for an end to the nightmare of capitalism. And we would have it no other way.

Raise the question of your trade union taking out a bulk subscription for your branch, and talk to your local left-wing bookshop about stocking the paper.

Become a seller of Socialist Appeal and join a local supporters’ group. If there is no group in your area, help us set one up! It is only through the tireless efforts of each and every individual supporter that the forces of Marxism advance. Everyone has their role to play, no matter how large or small.
