For decades, militant trade union activists have been targeted by the bosses. Now Marxists in the Labour Party will face similar victimisation, as part of Starmer’s purge. The scourge of blacklisting must be fought across the labour movement.
I have known many, many comrades – good union militants – who have been blacklisted by their low-life employers. I am one of those blacklisted workers, working in the construction industry.
Scourge
The BLACKLIST has been a weapon of the bosses for a long time, ever since the creation of the trade union movement.
In the 19th century it was known as the ‘Document’. Men and women were forced to sign it. Their choice was either to relinquish their union ties, or be sacked.
Lists of ‘troublemakers’ were circulated amongst the bosses, and honest workers and their families were victimised.
Such criminal activity has been rife in the construction industry right up to the present period. The rank-and-file Blacklist Support Group has been effective in exposing this rotten scourge and bringing it to light.
Promises – all well and good – have been made by Labour MPs and unions to eradicate this blight.
But there is a new scourge; a new pestilence.
Proscription
We are now faced with Starmer’s BLACKLIST – a new political BLACKLIST.
This BLACKLIST is just as insidious as the old industrial BLACKLIST. It is to be used to expel honest class fighters and socialists from the Labour Party.
Supporters of Socialist Appeal, along with three other groups, have been targeted – proscribed and banned by the leadership. Starmer and his careerist gang are aping the methods of the blacklisting employers in this regard.
In true Stalinist fashion, the Labour Party under the right wing, after sacking one third of its own staff, is to employ dozens of temporary staff from a private company – not to fight the Tories, but as part of a Starmerite spy ring of stooges.
In other words, Starmer is deploying the same pernicious ‘fire and rehire’ tactics as have become commonplace in industry, where the bosses carry out mass sackings in order to push down workers’ wages and conditions.
The sole job of this new bureaucratic apparatus is to search the internet for signs of Marxist activity in the Labour Party. They are to compile a BLACKLIST of suspects who will be automatically expelled from the party without any recourse to justice.
These new blacklisters must be called out for what they are: lackeys of the establishment, who want to make the Labour Party safe for capitalism.
Solidarity
I am proud to stand up for my class. That is why they put me on the BLACKLIST. Now, as a supporter of Socialist Appeal, they want to put me on this new political BLACKLIST. Both are equally detestable, and must be opposed by all decent people.
We say: Down with the BLACKLIST wherever it exists! Down with Starmer’s BLACKLIST! Out with the perpetrators of this monstrosity!
