We publish here a short motion that was proposed and passed at a Unite branch by Socialist Appeal supporters. The motion correctly calls for complete support in the attempts made by Unite to move the Labour Party away from the influence and control of Blairism, and bring it back to its working class roots. We encourage all of our readers to argue for these ideas within their union and Labour Party branches.

Motion passed:
- We fully support the efforts of Unite to get the Labour Party back to its roots.
- We are saddened to see the recent Tory and press hysteria about the influence of TU’s in the Labour Party being echoed by Party leaders.
- We condemn the undemocratic actions of the Labour leadership in Falkirk.
- We declare our full solidarity with our unions’ struggle against the Blairite usurpers in the Labour Party.
- We want to see internal Party democracy restored and an end to careerists profiting on the back of our Party.
To be sent to NEC of Labour Party and NEC of Unite.
