*Alan Docherty has been banned from holding any office for 2 years after appeal.*
Alan
got his letter, delivered by hand on Monday 7th June, banning him from
holding any Unison office for 2 years from the 4th June. He was
immediately dismissed.
Alan is now considered by Unison to be a
non-person; he has also been banned from attending conference. This is
after almost 25 years activity supporting members in Nalgo and Unison.
Alan still maintains he has committed no crime. He has been excluded for speaking out.
Unison
democracy is seriously compromised when activists who have devoted most
of their lives to the movement are kicked out to suit the ambitions of
a small clique who want to run the union.
Alan is not an isolated case, it could easily happen to you if you cross the ‘wrong’ people.
If
you are at conference, find out what is really happening in our union,
attend the *‘Reclaim our Union’ fringe meeting at Bournemouth Central
Premier Inn, Westover Road, 12.30pm, Wednesday 16th June.*
